Bullied

I hate bullies. One crow remains, the object of his brethren’s spite. Patches of pecked at feathers show. I give him water, a few nuts from my lunchbox. I watch over him until he’s ready to fly. The school bell rings. He escaped his bullies. But I return to mine.
