Nichole lives in a home in Pennsylvania with her husband and two sons, each of whom only barely tolerates her unrelenting enthusiasm for all things that are of dirt and trees (especially things with feathers). She is an adjunct professor of composition, holds a master’s degree in rhetoric, and is an MFA candidate at New England College. Her recent poetry has grown from her reflections on various motherhoods – how some mothers are allowed in the “club” with greater ease than others, and the unsettling nature of “being mother” in an untraditional way. She is determined to decode, through poetry, not only her own sacred and terrifying mother-child relationships but the often ignored sacred-terror of the mother-mother relationship. These days, her writing can be found in Beyond Words, Pretty Owl Poetry, The Magnolia Review, Willows Wept Review, Sisyphus, and Snapdragon.
