Amanda Smith-Hatch has been reading and writing poetry since she was a young girl. She attended a variety of colleges and universities, and holds degrees in Biology, Natural Resource Conservation, English Literature, and Creative Writing. She admires the work of a wide range of poets, and loves discovering collections and writers; she is currently exploring the work of Patrice de La Tour du Pin and Mak Dizdar. She also always enjoys the company of plants and animals, and currently works at the local humane society. The newest addition to her family is a Silkie chicken named Janet.
