Celine Low is a writer, painter, dancer, and secret bathroom-singer. Newlywed to a Srinivasan, she currently resides in Singapore, a tiny country in Southeast Asia with a hodgepodge of cultures but is looking forward to the lifting of travel bans so she can fulfill her nomadic aspirations. She teaches creative writing to high school students, cooks up a sometimes-disastrous storm in the kitchen, makes her own shampoos, loves cats and dreams of tigers, occasionally flirts with the idea of owning a safari, and will never refuse a cup of rum. She enjoys reading poetry, literary fiction, and S/F, especially High Fantasy, and her favourite books include Anne Carson’s The Beauty of the Husband, Kazuo Ishiguro’s A Pale View of Hills, and Tolkien’s The Silmarillion. The best poems, she believes, turn snippets of everyday life into sharp-edged swords. When they nick you, it scars.
Celine holds an MA in English Literature, and her fiction, poetry, and art are either published or forthcoming in Bluing the Blade, The Fiction Pool, Beyond Words, The Muddy River Poetry Review, Adelaide Literary Magazine, Fifty Word Stories, One Sentence Poems, BALLOONS Literary Journal, and 9Tales from Elsewhere, among others. Read raw drafts of her poetry on Instagram @_ckye.
