Like many ordinary Hong Kong people, Kwong Kwok Wai, Walter would describe his life as segmented into two periods: the Colonial rule and Chinese sovereignty. His artwork is all about reminiscing on this historical phase. Kwong is a multi-disciplinary artist who focuses on oil painting and fiction writing. His skills were mostly self taught while he served in journalism for 30 years. After witnessing and reporting the ups and downs of Hong Kong, he quit his job as an Executive Producer at a news channel by the end of 2018 so that he could fully devote his time and attention to the pursuit of the arts. Walter is an alumni of the Vermont Studio Center Residency Program with VSC Merit Grants. As an award-winning artist, he has been featured in numerous international, local, and online art projects.
