Megan Walter

Megan Walter is an aspiring young writer based in Atlanta, Georgia. Megan’s currently navigating her sophomore year of high school; she writes for both her school newspaper and literary magazine, and she’s also working to establish an artistic magazine for her local community. When she’s not thinking about all things literary, Megan enjoys advocating in Amnesty International Club, connecting with her Jewish community, and competing in long-distance running. Megan’s work has been published in EuroChild and BlueRider, she’s received honorary mentions in both the Enlighten America Essay Contest and the 2018 Haiku Contest, and she recently attended Columbia University’s Immersion Program in Creative Writing. Some of Megan’s favorite novels include Doerr’s All The Light We Cannot See and Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude. Megan’s love of writing began in Scandinavia, where she lived abroad for two years—upon returning to the U.S., she felt lost; prose and poetry provided an outlet for exploration and reflection. Megan views literature as a form of truth-telling and activism. To Megan, every novel, short story, and poem feels like a microcosmic adventure—a literary window into all of the worlds within ours. She hopes to inspire other young artists to find their voices through writing, too!
