Nicoleta is a California Bay Area native who fears the written word as much as she is fueled by it. A writer for 20+ years, Nicoleta studied creative writing and literature academically and received her BA in English Literature from San Francisco State University. She has pursued a professional career in freelance editing, publishing, marketing, and technical writing and has contributed to a number of online education curricula centering on topics such as diversity, anti-harassment, and discrimination.
When she’s not working her day jobs, Nicoleta’s personal writing aims to paint unconventionally relatable realms of myth and magic by exposing the raw conflict of identity and the depths of human behavior through desire-driven vulnerabilities and motivators. By means of varying written mediums, Nicoleta is committed to uncovering the complex diversity of thought and discovering a magic she has developed the desperate need to find in both the here and now and there and then. Her non-fiction and poetry have been published by MARY: A Journal of New Writing and Tempered Runes Press and she is writing her first novel, a literary fiction narrative with a twist of modern gothicism. Many years ago, a friend sent her the phrase “Cacoethes Scribendi” with no context and it has haunted her in the best way ever since.
